Veteran TV and film actor Gulab Chandio passed away in Karachi on Friday. The Sindhi and Urdu actor was suffering from heart disease and diabetes and breathed his last at a private hospital of Karachi after a long illness. He was admitted to the hospital a couple of days back where the doctors couldn’t help him
Gulab Chandio started his career in the 1980s through Sindhi dramas and made a transition to Urdu plays, making a place for himself as the villain in many PTV dramas. His unique style of delivering his dialogues made him popular and he kept acting on TV until the mid-2010s. His famous dramas include Noori Jan Tamachi, Chand Girhan, Ghulam Gardish, Marvi etc. whereas he worked in films as well, with Adnan Sarwar’s Shah being his final work a few years back.
In Chand Girhan, Gulab Chandio’s performance was appreciated by all as he played a shady character who spoke in a calm manner and got the job done. Years after appearing in TV and films, the actor joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as he got inspiration form the leading political party as well as their party chief Imran Khan. Gulab Chandio will be buried in his ancestral village in Nawabshah on Saturday.
